Introduct Completes Major Upgrade of Oman’s National Statistics Data Portal
We’re pleased to announce that we’ve completed the upgrade to the National Center for Statistics Information (NCSI) data portal for the Sultanate of Oman. We’re happy to work on a project like this. It underscores our dedication and the trust our clients have in us. We’re proud to be a trusted technology partner for government institutions in the region.
Restoring a Critical National Data Platform
The portal was originally purchased and developed by the National Center for Statistics and Information in 2015. Over time, some technical problems arose on the platform that needed fixing. Therefore, the platform had limitations that affected its ability to function as a reliable national data source.
The platform experienced several technical issues that included the inability to upload new data. Thus, the data on the portal was old and not relevant. Moreover, most of the employees of the project left it, and the original codebase of the project was lost.
Due to these issues, the platform was at risk of corruption. The situation was critical, so it needed fast and qualified help. The team of our specialists was the best fit.
Technical Resolution and Delivery Approach
As part of our work, we conducted a technical audit to understand where the problem lay. The result showed that there were environment upgrades and version incompatibilities. These issues affected core system components.
To solve these technical issues, we:
- Created a series of calls with the NRC team to understand the system’s state
- Deployed a senior engineer for the upgrade of the portal
- Restored data upload functionality
- Tested the updates created before the product rollout
The upgrade we delivered met strict security and operational requirements. We carefully planned all steps during our work. The NCSI representatives later verified and accepted the work.
Ensuring Continuity and Long-Term Reliability
The team of our specialists has completed the full scope of work on time. The upgrade of the platform allowed it to fully restore its operational capability. Moreover, the upgrade enabled NCSI to publish fresh national statistical data.
As we’ve finished the project, it has had several positive effects. The portal now has improved system stability and maintainability. Moreover, the upgraded portal creates a reliable foundation for future data updates and enhancements.
We’re, at Introduct, proud to have successfully completed the upgrade. Such a collaboration underscores the trust we have and the technical skills of our teams. Creating government-scale digital solutions makes our presence in Oman even stronger.
